The beginning of Original Buddha Art

Original Buddha Art was born from a personal search for modern Buddha paintings from Thailand. During a trip in February 2026, I discovered the work of Thai artist Seksak Jaichumchen in Chon Buri. His hand-painted Buddha art combines powerful colors with a serene presence and fits surprisingly well in modern European interiors.

After meeting the artist in person, a collaboration quickly emerged. The first paintings were brought to the Netherlands and became the starting point of Original Buddha Art — a platform for unique, hand-painted Buddha paintings from Thailand.

All Buddha paintings by Original Buddha Art are respectfully blessed by a Buddhist monk in Thailand. In this blog, you will learn more about the meaning of this tradition, the role of temples such as Wat Chai Mongkhon in Chon Buri, and why blessings are an important part of daily life in Thailand.

We explain why in Thailand not only artworks, but also houses, cars, and businesses are often blessed, and how this symbolizes good intentions, harmony, and positive energy. In this way, a unique connection is created between Buddha art from Thailand, spiritual tradition, and the space where the painting ultimately finds its place.

For many people, this blessing adds an extra sense of peace, mindfulness, and meaning to the artwork. It contributes to a harmonious atmosphere in both home and workspace, while enhancing the experience of a hand-painted Buddha painting with spiritual significance. It also reflects a deeper appreciation for art that carries both aesthetic and cultural value.
